Rated: December 2010- When you first access the Miles & More home page, you're drawn to the rather quickly rotating photos featuring the current special offers such as shopping bonuses, a partner hotel award sale and credit card offers.
Above this display are three important tabs for Miles & More members: Earn miles, Spend miles and The programme.
The home page also features links to Flight awards by area: Europe, Africa, South America with a quick link to search and book a flight award directly from the home page. Another section offers quick links to news and "more offers" as well as a link to information about a Miles & More co-branded credit card including a link directly to your credit card statement.
Even though there is quite a lot of information available from this one page, the graphics make it easy to navigate and you're not left wondering where to find the information you'll need as a Miles & More member.
When clicking the Earn miles tab at the top of the screen, you will find everything you need to know about this topic including partner accrual information and a link to a mileage calculator and other links promoting various special offers such as a fast-track to Silver membership. Clicking the Spend miles tab will display all the ways you can use your miles including photos of the items you can shop for with your miles and a search tool for award flights.
The final tab at the top of the home page is The programme, and clicking this tab will take you to a page where you can join the program and find answers to any questions you might have about membership in Miles & More, including a search feature and "Ask your question" area.
There is a Top 10 FAQ list and if that doesn't answer your question, there are various other ways to get your answer including emailing and picking up the phone and calling. There is also a Guided Tour of the program which will come in handy if you're new to Miles & More. Viewing this tour from our Mac, however, resulted in audio but no video.
Members can request missing miles, buy miles, request your mileage balance by SMS and click the link to download the Miles & More app.
There is also a Share link where you can share information you find on the site in Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, LinkedIn and more.
There is a Miles & More newsletter and you'll get 500 bonus miles when you initially subscribe to the online newsletter (subscribing to online newsletters is always a good idea so we suggest you do subscribe). The newsletter is optimized to make reading from a smartphone easy and features news, award sales and your account balance delivered to your email address or direct to your mobile device.
It's difficult to find fault in this workhorse of a Web site. It seems to have just about anything a member could wish for. It might not be the prettiest site we've seen, but it gets the job done.
Miles & More members can quickly access what they need and get on with the rest of their lives. You can't ask for much more than that from a Web site.
